Vuole la tradizione che nei primi anni dell’Ottocento il pasticcere chivassese Giovanni Podio, mescolando sapientemente tre soli ingredienti (nocciole Piemonte, zucchero e albume) diede vita a
questi dolci singolari quanto raffinati. I Nocciolini di Chivasso (che in origine si chiamavano “Noasetti”) furono poi portati a maggiore notorietà da due maestri confettieri, Ernesto Nazzaro e Luigi Bonfante, il quale modificò nel 1922 la confezione dei nocciolini, introducendo il pacchetto rosa che ancora oggi li contraddistingue.
I nocciolini, deliziosi gustati da soli e in ogni occasione, formano un’accoppiata assai gradevole per il palato se presentati con il classico bicerin di origine torinese (bevanda in cui si mescolano caffè, cioccolata e latte), oppure con il più noto zabaglione (meglio se caldo). I vini dolci della grande tradizione piemontese – Brachetto, Malvasia, Moscato d’Asti e i vini Passiti – esaltano e rendono unico il loro sapore già così peculiare.
