The Gallery of Historical Locomotion is one of the first examples in Italy of direct cooperation between collectors and public administration. Also conducted with the contribution of Fondazione CRT and with the sponsorship of Confindustria Canavese, The Gallery of Historical Locomotion in Rivarolo Canavese is a collection of cars, motorcycles, scooters and bicycles with historical documented, that with the creation of a museum, it becomes memory history of the industrial Canavese. Today it is composed of 38 cars, mostly prewar, from 1906 to Ceirano Crysler NewYorker 1942, a panorama of the production of the '20s and '30s with an eye on the big Italian brands, and many motorcycles, again from 1912 to the '50s, racing model and the "Saetta"; Forno Canavese motorcycles built in the '30s.
The Gallery, it was enriched by an ancient workshop of the blacksmith reassembled in a dedicated space, and in 2011/11 is planned the implementation of the library, the new center for historical documentation of local industry, to encourage the public enjoying the important collection of cars, parts thereof and records that many owners are willing to merge and make it usable. "The establishment of this museum is also a recognition to our land - says the mayor Fabrizio Rivarolo Bertot, a proponent of the project - which has finally gained the knowledge that this area represents the past, but also the future economy of our area". "The idea of setting up a museum of cars standing between us collectors" said Claudio Agnese, Director of the Museum "and we can pay all enjoyed a cultural heritage that shareholders otherwise pulverized owners are happy to submit."
