The «Regio Theatre» of Turin is the Theatre of the King, the place where the former Italian court was used to go to attend opera when Turin was Capital of Kingdom of Italy.
Built in 1740 following the project of Benedetto Alfieri it has been destroid in 1936 due to the fire and only in 1973 open again, providing Turin its most important theatre.
Today the Tearo Regio is one of the world point of reference for opera and lyrics.
Season 2010-2011 proposes several suggestion.
To note from March to May 4 Operas of Verdi, the Risorgimento Composer, will be played.

The Theatre Alla Scala has been built after the fire that destroyed the Duke Theatre following the desire of Maria Therese of Austria of having a wonederful theatre in Milan.
Built following the projects of neoclassical architect Giuseppe Piermarini, the Theatre has been inaugurated August 3rd 1778 with Salieri opera Europe Recognized.
During the over 230 years of history, the theatre has become one of the most important theatre worldwide, known not only for the embarassing beuty of the place, but also for its seasons that are among the most appreciated by thatre addicted and normal thatre lovers.
2010-2011 season will be the greatest of last 20 years with more than 20 shows (14 operas and 6 ballets).

Inaugurato il 16 maggio 1792 è stato edificato originariamente su progetto del Selva, che si aggiudicò il bando di concorso tra aspre polemiche che ritenevano dovesse essere il progetto del Bianchi ad essere proclamato vincitore.
Nella sua storia il teatro subì due tragici incendi, il primo nel 1836 ed il secondo il 29 gennaio 1996 di carattere doloso.
L'ultima inaugurazione avviene quindi il 14 dicembre 2003, quando il ricostruito teatro ospita La consacrazione della casa di Ludwig van Beethoven, cui segue un programma di Igor Stravinskij, in omaggio alla musica veneziana ed al compositore che riposa nella Serenissima sull'Isola di San Michele.

Il teatro San Carlo di Napoli è il più antico teatro operante in Europa.
Voluto da Re Carlo di Borbone, è stato realizzato in soli otto mesi su progetto di Giovanni Antonio Medrano e Angelo Carasale ed è stato inaugurato il 4 novembre 1737 con l'opera Achille in Sciro di Metastasio.
A seguito di un incendio sviluppatosi nella notte del 13 febbraio 1816 è stato interamente ricostruito da Antonio Niccolini che in nove mesi riportò il teatro ai suoi fasti.
Le ultime vicessitudini del teatro riguardano il suo bombardamento nel 1943, ma nell'immediato dopoguerra è stato definitivamente restaurato, recuperando gran parte dell'opera del 1816.
Il Teatro San Carlo è un punto di riferimento internazionale per il grande repertorio melodrammatico e nel tempo si è anche fatto carico di riproporre i capolavori dimenticati dell'Ottocento e di far riscoprire l'opera buffa settecentesca di scuola napoletana.

Parma, a ben vedere, è forse la città più musicale d'Italia e non solo.
Oltre ad aver dato nella sua provincia i natali a Giuseppe Verdi, Parma ed i suoi teatri a partire dalla metà del'600 hanno ospitato le maggiori opere, rappresentate sempre davanti ad un pubblico colto e preparato.
Il teatro Regio viene inaugurato il 16 maggio 1829, costruito su progetto di Nicola Bettòli in circa 8 anni, vede la luce con un passo falso. L'opera inaugurale, infatti, La Zaira, di Vincenzo Bellini era troppo distante dal gusto parmigiano e la fretta nel realizzare l'opera fecero il resto.
Non fu tuttavia questo fiasco iniziale a ridurre i fasti del teatro che si riprese presto ed oggi propone una delle migliori stagioni in Italia e non solo.

The Arena became a lyric theatre in 1913 when it has been decided to celebrate the 100 Anniversary of Giuseppe Verdi birth representing in the Arena the first opera.
Since that moment the Verona Arena has become the world biggest lyric theatre and it has strongly contributed of making Verona the UNESCO music and poetry Capital and the Arena itself part of the Common Heritage of Mankind.
