Italia2011 wants to celebrate the Great Italian wines suggesting producers and grapes that has to be tasted to really appreciate Italy
MASTROBERARDINO
Mastroberardino
Mastroberardino is an hystorical wine maker of Atripalda, town known as principal paladine of autochthonous wineyard in Campania.
Mastroberardino has been created by Chevalier Angiolo Mastroberardino inn 1878 and is now run by Piero Mastroberadino, still member of the family. Mastroberardino has always woked to preserve and valorize the local wines as the Fiano, the Greco and the Aglianico.
Among the most important lables to be noted: Novaserra Greco di Tufo DOCG, Radici Fiano di Avellino DOCG, Radici Taurasi (and Radici Taurasi Riserva) DOCG.

FATTORIA DEI BARBI
Fattoria dei Barbi
The Fattoria dei Barbi is owned since 1352 by the Cinelli Colombini family an ancient Siena decent and covers terrains in Montalcino, Scansano and in Chianti for a comprehensive extension of 451 hectares.
In the cellar, visitors may admire a complete collection of bottles from 1870 till today to testify a unique continuity in Italy.
Pioneers both in oenology and in wine traders, the Fattoria dei Barbi awarded several prizes during the years: first wine mail order selling (1936), first export of Brunello di Montalcino in USA (1962), Europe and Japan; first prize “super Tuscan” (Brusco dei Barbi, 1969), first grappa single grapes (grappa of Brunello, 1974).
The cellar has a capacity of 5.000 hectolitres in wooden barrel and additional 15.000 hectolitres in steel barrel. Moreover, it is open for visit since over 40 years.
Total current production reach 800.000 bottles, thanks to over 91,5 hectares of vineyards at low density (5.200 trees per hectare). Qualitative selection is very careful and less than 60% of potential Brunello production real become Brunello.
Since 2001 PMF project (pre cold soaking) has been put in place to re-create the optimal conditions to harvest grapes. The result is today an enriched Brunello, but not altered.
This is since the beginning the philosophy of Fattoria dei Barbi: merge the most evolved technology and tradition, to improve all the products without affecting typicality.

Arnaldo Caprai
Arnaldo Caprai is the Italian Wine company today recognized leader in the production of the “Sagrantino di Montefalco”, the great wine produced from Sagrantino grapes, a unique vineyard that grows only in Montefalco since over than 400 years.
Thanks to its research and innovation, merging tradition and modern methods, Arnaldo Caprai is able to offer greates wines, powerful, elegant and with personality at the same time.
The company has now reached an extension of about 150 hectars, all located in the Sagrantino di Montefalco D.O.C.G., Montefalco D.O.C. and Colli Martani D.O.C. area.
Arnaldo Caprai opens its cellars and its wineshop in Val di Maggio estate both to professional and wine curious, the important element is only to share passion for wine.
Visits have to be booked in advance and are open to a maximum of 15 people. During the visit is possible to do a tour of vineyards and cellars, tasting cheese and Umbria delicatessen and of course purchasing Arnaldo Caprai great wines.
